Building Leadership Readiness:

Why Organisations Need to Develop Leaders Before They Lead

Most organisations invest considerable effort in identifying future leaders. . .

  • Talent reviews highlight high-potential individuals.

  • Succession plans identify future management capability.

  • Career pathways encourage progression.

Yet there is a challenge that many organisations continue to face.

Potential does not automatically translate into leadership readiness. When individuals are promoted before they feel prepared for the realities of leadership, both the individual and the organisation can feel the impact.

What is the cost of waiting too long?

eGuide:

From Individual Contributor to Conscious Leader

Developing future leaders requires more than leadership training.

Our latest eGuide explores how personality insight, self-awareness and practical development can help organisations build stronger leadership pipelines and prepare people for leadership before challenges arise.

Can Personality Assessments be Faked?

In one of our latest blog articles we explore that often ‘uncomfortable’ question: ‘can personality assessments be manipulated?’

We often get a mixed response. Some will say, “well, of course not.” Others say, “most probably.”

The honest answer is more nuanced.

In most development contexts, people respond sincerely. But in high-stakes situations, those that are more important such as recruitment, promotion, succession decisions, human beings naturally become more self-presenting.

We don’t always lie. But we do curate. . .

Explore how we account for that reality

ETPG 26 - Shaping the Future of Assessment

One of our highlights this year has been seeing our MD, Grant Gemmell, serve as President of the European Test Publishers Group (ETPG) – an organisation dedicated to advancing quality, standards and best practice in psychological testing across Europe.

Grant's presidency concluded with the ETPG Annual Conference in Edinburgh, where experts from across the profession came together to explore the future of assessment. Key discussions focused on the rapid rise of AI, the shift towards more real-world and context-rich assessment, the importance of maintaining rigorous testing standards, and why the human expertise behind assessment is becoming more valuable than ever.

We're proud to have played a leading role in shaping these conversations and helping drive the future of scientifically grounded assessment.

Teamwork isn't a Once-a-Year Event

Great teamwork isn't about getting everyone in a room once a year. It's about understanding and valuing one another every day.

Every team has its own unique dynamics - the habits, behaviours and relationships that shape how people communicate, solve problems and get things done.

Our Team Dynamics Quiz helps reveal those patterns, giving you practical insights into how your team works today and where there's opportunity to work even better together.

Don’t wait until your next once-a-year-team-away-day – start today.

Take the quiz and build a deeper understanding of your team
